Facts, Values and a Place for the Profound (1/9)

Above is part one of a recent 90 minute interview - see all of it here!

In his usual calm and eloquent manner, Harris discusses meditation, psychedelics, religion, philosophy and science.

He keeps striking me as more and more of a heavyweight.

Here he is talking about Buddhism and his month as a bodyguard to the Dalai Lama, as well as his long study with meditation teachers:

I am referring to Ken Wilber… Last year he went little nuts and cursed out his critics on Integral World and said he was a gunslinger - and that he was Wyatt Earp, figuratively speaking. http://www.integralworld.net/visser15.html

He also told his critics  - EXCUSR ME – To s–k his d—

But I am the true Wyatt Earp, Wilber is a fake Wyatt Earp

Julian

Actually I like  some of his ideas [that our similar to mine] regarding the fantasy sky-god believers.

Though I put him in the same bag as most postmodernists who don’t really have a solution or alternative to the fundamentalist religions and their fantasy sky-god. Their atheistic secularism is as bankrupt, in my view, as the medieval religious believers, but on a different level.

Just look at the world

BTW, I am as calm as the universe.
