Esalen Adventures
My first ever HD video!
Some footage from the Esalen trip - I didn't shoot any of the actual experiential work, as it is a sacred space and quite personal work, but I did record one of my lectures - called "Contemporary Shamanism" - and I will have that available through Radio Qi within 6 weeks or so....
Oh yeah - the photos are here if you haven't seen them yet!

Great footage of an inspiring place! The fog rolling in as we were leaving was like nothing I had ever seen before. So glad you captured it.
Gabriel in the background… NOTHING better!
Looking forward to next year's adventure =0)
yea amazing to be standing level with misty clouds - made me feel like i was in the empire strikes back…
next time i'll try and get some little interview moments from people and maybe a couple shots of yoga or dance for more context….
wish i coulda been there. those ballet moves were adorable…..
and the landscape, my goodness…didn't robinson jeffers live there?
just so everyone knows the ballet moves were just an impromptu expression of joy and play as we were setting up for an afternoon lecture - don't think that the ecstatic dance portion of my work is about choreography oir performance! really sweet though, huh?!
robinson jeffers - hmm let me look into that…
yea would have been nice to have you there salima.
to reassure you….i really didn't think your ecstatic dance included pleie's and pirouettes…..i assume it's a little funkier free-form than that…..
but still, surprised that there should be two people at the training who are actual ballerinas (or look like it anyway.)
:)
yea fun stuff - beautiful to watch the series of finales they go through as they reluctantly return to their cushions!
What a beautiful retreat. I LOVE Big Sur. I stayed at this amazing B &B when I was there last called the Deetjen Inn, not far from the Henry Miller Museum. I stayed in “grandpas room” Each room journals dated back to the 1960s with entries from visitors all our the world. Stores of love, romance, friendship, beautiful artwork. I shared a my dreams from the previous night. The restaurant was phenomenal.Everyone should visit this magical place at least once in their lifetime. It has a rich history.
