Starting Monday October 8th we will hear voices from Zaadz, Flow, The Eco Gift Expo and Green Mountain Energy talking about the exciting and revolutionary field of Eco Business and Conscious Capitalism.
Excited!? Passionate about the idea and your own philosophy/applications? Skeptical? Got a bone to pick with the whole thing? Curious and wanting to know more? Come and play, bring your opinions and questions - these Zymposia have had about 2500 readers in the past and - best of all, engaged and respectful dialog ranging across 400 or so comments on multiple blogs from around the world...

Please spread the word and let's take Z3 to the next level of exposure - it's a topical and fascinating subject!
Stay tuned through the week for more details as I firm up the participants (should be some fun surprises!)
Let's start the party off with this fascinating and pithy conversation between Whole Foods CEO John Mackey and prominent author and journalist Michael Pollan:

Julian, thanks for kicking off another excellent topic for discussion! looking forward to make some useful contribution :) and thanks again for posting that video. we should have more debates like that on mainstream media.
looking forward to this topic!…
not only an exciting zymposium, but thank you for the video…it was absolutely in alignment with a class i am taking at ucla (first class was last night) called art as social action where the main topic is all about slow food and the food industry being the major way that we will see or can effect great social change…the class is actually a call to action and i thank you for adding even more spark to a well fanned fire…
mad love…S.
wow sarah! thats cool - tell me more…
always great to have you on board c4!
Really looking forward to this Julian. Thanks so much!
When will you have the list of participants up? Can't wait to see who's on deck.
hey tommy
good to see you!
i will have a list up in the next couple days - working on some cool surprises!
stay tuned…
Absolutely love and appreciate your commitment and leadership, Julian. Looking forward to playing. :)
Julian!
Thanks so much for this; I'm looking forward to Monday. (Welll. I always look forward to Mondays, but this one'll be more exciting than usual.)
And what about a voice from Gaiam? I can be a voice from Gaiam if I want, hm? ;)
oh yes siona - absolutely - be the voice of gaiam and explain to me the distinction you are making please! link us to the relevant page too…
good to have you along sensei johnson!
This is getting exciting. Great to see the participants lining up . Wow!
yes it's going to be a great line up! did anyone else have a chance to check out the video above?
tell you more…well, i suppose the main throeretical point is quite simply that it is through foods that we became a fast fix society and by sort of reversing the awareness (or rather trans-ing it), we could be looking at the next great middle class movement for social change…but, like i said, it has only been one lecture so far, so much more of an explanation will have to wait…
other than that…still very excited to see what the brilliant minds gathering together for this one have to say…
sounds very thought-provoking sarah!
looking forward to your comments on z3 in light of this class you are in..
Sarah, thanks for sharing that. This is right in line with what we are trying to do with the Eco Gift Expo. Turining around the existing paradigm and moving toward that mass movement for change. What an amazing time we live in!
can't wait to hear you talk more about your eco gift expo vision tommy. seems like a phenomenal re-imagining of the holiday shopping concept….
That's the idea and then some Julian. We're planning a real festival atmosphere with magicians, musicians, food and around 150 eco-conscious vendors selling gorgeous environmentally friendly holiday gifts.
The idea is to get all your holiday shopping done under one roof, vote with your dollars for the kinds of companies you want to support, reduce waste at a time that is typically very wasteful, and have a lot of fun in the process creating community and enjoying the spirit of giving!
Anyone interested in knowing more can check out my pages by just clicking on my icon. (I think that's how this works?)
Sarah? I LOVE your comments. I think our next Zymposium should be about food and our relationship to it. :)
And I'll be happy to talk a bit about Gaiam and Zaadz, but it might be a bit of a distraction from the more general topic here. I'll assume you don't mind if I end up routing others to a different (or later on?) discussion?
Again… I can't wait 'til Monday.
of course that's fine siona - link away!
i can't wait for YOUR piece on monday….
:O)
Hey there julian, Sarah, Siona, Brian, Dave, etc.
Just had a thought this evening about Z3? We can get BMW to sponsor. Joking! I'd be psyched though if they put out a hybrid with 80+ miles per gallon. In the meantime, I am looing forward to this collaborative expression. Off we go…
Tommy…
funny you should say that tommy - my father worked for bmw for 25 years!
i'll put in a call…..
i am actually excited to hear about gaiam and zaadz too siona and dont think it is a distraction at all - for whatever that input is worth…
and yea i agree - our relationship to food (psychologically, nutritionally, environmentally etc..) would be a fascinating topic!
i agree. I think you (siona) talking about zaadz planted into gaia and the shared values of transformational economics, etc. would be sweet! :)
Julian, this Z3 zymposium is a great idea. I'm looking forward to it.
great mark - i anticipate your thoughtful observations…
Hi I'm new to the Zaadz community, and I'm really keen to check this out and participate, I'm in process of setting up a new International School for Ethical Business (ISEB) with bases in Spain, the UK and USA…with the purpose of any ISEB being to not only teach the holistic principles of what Ethical Business is and so on, but to also help create new Ethical Businesses…to help facilitate the establishment of bona-fide Sustainable Compassionate Communities (SCC's)…any tips on how to get involved most welcome!
welcome ray - look forward to your presence this coming week!
